UNE v8.5

The build number for this release is: 8.5.27899

The 8.5 release of UNE includes the following:

Important Information

Named users have changed from UNE 8.5
There are now 3 different user types available in UNE. Builder (ability to create new and edit existing applications), Editor (edit data within UNE applications), and Viewer (access, view, and trace data within UNE applications). Pre-existing licence files will still work as normal in 8.5, but when renewing licences can now be split into the above model.

Subtype Group Layers
Any UNE 8.4 or older applications will not be using Subtype group Layers in the Webmap or application. Any imported UNE 8.4 application will use the regular configuration of grouped layers. To use Subtype Group Layers you will need to make a new 8.5 UNE app and re-build your UNE application. Any new 8.5 app create will use Subtype Group layers as default.

Known Issue: Phantom Points
There is a known issue with this release of UNE 8.5 where certain configurations may cause “phantom” point features to appear on the map. These visual artefacts cannot be interacted with and have zero effect on your data. A fix is being developed and will be released shortly.

Known Issue: Web Map File Size Ballooning
There is a known bug within ArcGIS Pro and Portal when opening a UNE Webmap in Pro and making changes to symbology, causes issues with saving said Webmap containing Utility Network Layers back to ArcGIS Portal due to duplication of UN templates and resultant Webmap file size ballooning. A workaround has been identified so if you experience this problem please contact technical support.

Major Enhancements

  • Support for Subtype Group Layers
The ability to add attribute rules specific to a subtype. The rules can be defined on the parent, and inherited by subtypes. Individual subtypes can override the rules. The ability to add topology, and connectivity rules, specific to a Subtype.
  • New Field Type Support
The new ESRI Field type DateOnly, TimeOnly and DateTimeOffset are now supported.
  • User Interface Calcite Rework
This change ensures a more consistent, accessible, and modern user experience. By using the Calcite design system, we enhance usability, performance, and maintainability, providing a more seamless and intuitive interface.
  • New Arcade Editor
A smoother scripting experience with support for IntelliSense, a larger script writing area, and support for Arcade 1.26.
  • JS API Update
Updated to the Esri JS API 4.30

Minor Enhancements

  • Separate Post Edit and Reconcile buttons
The user now has the ability to reconcile edits separately before posting them to the default branch.
  • Ability to Detect Editing State
The ability to detect active edit sessions and unsaved edits with a new application property function – applicationProperty(“is-in-edit-session”).

Highlighted Bug Fixes

  • General UI Display Fixes – Select icon in the layer list now shows labels for UN subtype descriptions instead of coded numbers.
  • UN Visibility Scales – Updating scale thresholds in Pro will be honoured in all configurations within UNE
  • Labelling Issues – Fixed several bugs with labels rendering incorrectly or disappearing
